A further 154 homes for Ebbsfleet Garden City have been approved as work starts on the ground for more than 470 new properties this month.

The latest planning permission was given to David Wilson Homes for a new development in Castle Hill, Eastern Quarry.

The news comes as work starts on a further 473 homes in the Garden City.

Countryside Homes returns to Springhead Park for the first time in four years and has started groundwork for 123 homes in the second phase of its development there.

Redrow is on site to build 180 homes at its Ebbsfleet Green development with the first show home almost complete.

Charles Church has also started groundworks for its phase of 170 units.

In March, planning permission was granted for a new 420-pupil primary school in Castle Hill which is due to open in September 2017.

Paul Spooner, interim Chief Executive at Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, said: “Our strong planning service has granted permission for new homes from David Wilson Homes which is a fantastic contribution to the continuing growth of the Garden City.

“With another three developers already carrying out groundwork at Ebbsfleet Green, Eastern Quarry and Springhead Park we are seeing real momentum in the pace at which new homes will be delivered.”

The latest application will see 154 homes,made up of a range of one to five bedroom properties.
