Ebbsfleet Development Corporation’s Nicola Coppen has been appointed chairwoman of the Kent and Medway Construction Guild.
Nicola is the Utilities Project Manager with us and will bring a wealth of experience to the Guild in many fields, including regeneration, electricity, water, nuclear, road, rail and facilities management.
Nicola’s passion is infrastructure – from virtual concept to practical delivery and the collaboration and cooperation in between. She has managed projects of all sizes for around 20 years including project for AWE, Aldermaston, UK Power Networks and Thames Water.
With her commitment to the wider community through links to Scouting and to schools, plus other voluntary groups, she embodies the aims of the Construction Guild in her everyday life.
Nicola is looking forward to taking up the role of the Chair of the Kent and Medway Construction Guild. She said: “Looking back at my school careers advice, it was sadly lacking in breadth and inspiration. With the support of Guild Members, I believe our industry will create its own new way of inspiring young people of all calibres and abilities, and those returning to work or wanting to change career.
“Balancing education, the workplace, businesses and the community will also put Kent on the map in adopting a new 21st century approach to career development. I am looking forward to meeting all the Guild Members and inspiring people into the Construction Industry.”
Nicola was the winner of the 2017 Kent Women in Business ‘Women In Construction’ Award and also has an independent consultancy business, Diligence, providing specialist infrastructure project managers to projects throughout Kent and the south east.
