Bluewater Shopping Centre is set to undergo a major redevelopment that will bring more than 2,000 jobs with it.
Planning permission was granted to extend the West village section of the shopping centre from Pizza Express out to the nursery.
There will also be five separate extensions to the main shopping centre that will bring larger units and a re-configured layout.
Robert Goodman, general manager at Bluewater,: “We welcome the planning committee’s unanimous decision to approve the application.
“They will also create up to 500 jobs during construction and 2,300 once complete.
“Following the committee’s decision, our focus is now on working in partnership with our stakeholders on the detail of the proposals over the coming months.”
The report submitted to Dartford Council says there will be an increase of up to 30,000m2 for retail and catering space.
According to the planning permission, Bluewater is set to become 20 per cent bigger than it already is. Story taken from News Shopper here
