Following a successful presence at Fusion Festival and a co-design workshop at Castle Hill Community Centre in July, the project team for the Major Urban Park (MUP) will be hosting a virtual consultation event at 7pm on Tuesday 8 August 2023.

The session will be hosted via Zoom and will incorporate a live Q&A which will be recorded and hosted on the Major Urban Park website for people to refer back to, as well as a set of FAQs which will outline how community feedback is being considered.

Following pre-application engagement with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation and community groups, proposals for the Major Urban Park are at an exciting stage, and its ongoing success will be intrinsically linked to its ability to reflect the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Central to the engagement strategy for the Major Urban Park is the theme of co-design, where communities and local groups are encouraged to share their views alongside other stakeholders such as developers, designers and the local authority, involving them in the project design process from start to end. This is a unique opportunity for the community to be more actively involved in influencing how the park will serve the community, without being restricted to just planning matters.

The consultation period started in June 2023 and has included attending Fusion Festival at Platinum Jubilee Park on Saturday 8 July where people were able to share their views and ask questions on the proposals. The co-design workshop at Castle Hill Community Centre which took place on Monday 10 July provided an additional forum for residents and the local community to provide feedback on design options and workshop proposals.
