Springhead Park Primary School is celebrating the opening of its fun new playground facilities. Located within Ebbsfleet Garden City, the School, part of The Primary First Trust, just opened its doors to its first pupils in September.

Now, these brilliant new playground facilities will give all pupils the chance to be active, encourage their physical development and work together through an endless variety of team games. The children will also have lots of fun with their friends and explore their imaginations whilst using the new equipment.

The school is taking full advantage of their new building and grounds, generating lots of creative and exciting ideas for how to best develop their space. Pupils will soon be planting trees in the grounds – literally planting the roots of Springhead Park Primary School. The new trees will form part of the school’s outdoor forest school.

Staff are also considering ways to further develop the outdoor learning space, and will be seeking the views of their pupils, families and wider school community to come up with the best ways to shape the outdoor learning experience for all pupils. They will look at possibilities such as allotments, orchards, sensory gardens and wildlife areas. Leaders want to use the generous amount of outdoors space to help pupils develop their wellbeing, foster a respect for nature and increase their understanding of the world around them.

It’s early days as this part of the school’s development is still in the imagineering phase as part of a longer-term plan to develop the School, but they welcome any insight from other local organisations in the community who may have some ideas for how they can help support – please do email office@springhead.kent.sch.uk to contribute ideas!

The admissions window is now open for pupils looking to join this new and rapidly growing school in September 2021. The school will have places from Year R through to Year 5 in September 2021

Wayne Clayton, Head Teacher, Springhead Park Primary School, said:  We have been eagerly anticipating our new outdoor equipment, and the long-awaited smiles on the children’s faces certainly didn’t disappoint! We are so pleased with how much our pupils are just loving their new playground.

“This helps to really give an exciting new dimension to our excellent facilities here at Springhead Park Primary School. We look forward to working with our pupils and the wider community to keep developing the grounds of our amazing new school!”
