It will be the third primary school in Ebbsfleet Garden City. Work is already under way on the site after planning permission was given by Ebbsfleet Development Corporation last year.
Ebbsfleet Green Primary School
Housing at Ebbsfleet Green is being rapidly built, providing much needed accomodation for local families. This new primary school for the area, to be known as Ebbsfleet Green Primary School, will serve the community as houses are built and occupied. It will start as a one-form entry school, growing to a two-form entry school as the numbers of pupils in the area increases. The school will also include a specialist resource base provision for up to 15 pupils with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Kent County Council (KCC) consulted on the creation of a new primary school in the area in 2018. KCC then ran an open competition for Multi Academy Trusts to bid to run the new school. Maritime Academy Trust was successful in this competition. The Secretary of State for Education formally approved KCC’s recommendation for Maritime to run the school on 30th January 2019.
“We are thrilled to have been appointed as sponsors for Ebbsfleet Green Primary School. We are really excited about working with families in the area to jointly create an excellent primary school that serves the needs of the area.” – Nick Osborne, CEO
