More than three quarters of the homes for sale at Bellway’s Ebbsfleet Cross development have already been purchased – before the first residents have even moved in.

Bellway is building 100 homes at the site off Craylands Lane in Ebbsfleet Garden City, including 70 properties for private sale and 30 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

A total of 59 out of the 70 private homes have now been sold at the development, which is being built on a former chalk pit south of the A226 London Road.

Ten of the other 11 properties for sale – five apartments and five houses – are currently available to purchase, while the final plot, the three-bedroom showhome, is set to be released onto the market in due course.

Construction work on the 4.25-acre site began last year, and the first buyers are due to move into their homes before the end of this year.

Help to Buy enables purchasers to buy a new-build home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of a Government-backed equity loan, which is interest-free for the first five years of homeownership.

A selection of one-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom houses are currently available at Ebbsfleet Cross, with prices ranging from £232,495 to £411,495.
